Thank you for stopping at Emmons Legal !
If you are reading this because you are, or think you soon might be, in a commercial dispute, and need focused and candid legal advice, I've tried to provide enough information in the next few pages for you to decide if it will be worthwhile for you to drive out to our office to meet in person and discuss your situation.
Perhaps the most important thing to tell you: I love practicing law and deeply enjoy helping solve clients' problems. Over the years, I've learned that good clients (help) make good lawyers - my best results have invariably been achieved while working with clients who were honest, reasonable, and diligent, while I've not done nearly as well for clients who wouldn't level with me, or who thought they could hire a lawyer and then ignore their case.
After being educated at Dartmouth College and the University of Texas School of Law, and trained at Susman Godfrey, LLP, in 1991, I founded what became Emmons & Jackson, P.C., a high quality, mid-sized litigation firm. In 2013, I sold my interest in Emmons & Jackson, and started this much smaller, more focused practice: I now handle less than a dozen cases at a time, so I can do virtually all the legal work myself, though I will bring in other professionals, when that is in your best interest.
The following pages include my full resume, a description of how I handle commercial disputes, and some useful examples of past matters. After you've read these materials, if you believe Emmons Legal might be the right firm for you, please contact me to arrange a personal meeting.
